A little kitchen lore: Soca flakes

"Well, soca's, ahem, something like that! What have they got in the KoRo store again?", you think to yourself as you discover our soca flakes in the range. We'll now explain how, where, why and what soca flakes are!

A little kitchen lore: Soca flakes

How are soy flakes made?

One thing is clear, of course: we first select the finest soybeans for you. Because surprise: that's what our soy flakes are made from - 100%. After the beans have been cleaned, they are soaked and then cooked so that they can be ground more easily. The resulting soybean pulp is then dried in layers. The soy flakes are then formed into oat flakes. Put it in the bulk pack and the Socasflakes are ready for you!

What can you use Soca flakes for?

Soca flakes are ideal if you can't decide between sweet and savory. So you can use them however your heart or stomach desires! The flakes have a high protein and fiber content and, like oat flakes, have a slightly nutty taste and are otherwise rather neutral. But that's not a bad thing, it's a blank canvas on which you can let your culinary creativity run wild!

We don't want to exaggerate, but the possibilities really are virtually endless: Of course you can add the flakes to your muesli or cook an extra protein-rich porridge. But you can also make granola or bake with them. A tablespoon of the flakes is also great in shakes or smoothies, and the list goes on.

We love porridge, muesli and the like: it's not for nothing that we have a complete range of nuts, nut butters and dried fruit for topping in our store. But we wanted to show you a savory recipe for our soca flakes: Vegan bolognese made with soca flakes and mushrooms! We tested it and let's put it this way: the pot was empty faster than you can say "soca flakes"!
