How often should I consume protein bars?

We recommend eating a protein bar now and then after a workout, up to one bar per day. If consumed in excess, it may have a laxative effect due to the sweeteners it contains.

What are the potential side effects of protein bars?

We mainly use maltitol to give your protein bar its pleasantly sweet taste. Maltitol is a sugar alcohol that is harmless to health as long as it is consumed in moderation – because maltitol does affect blood sugar levels and, if consumed in large quantities, can have a laxative effect. So you shouldn’t consume too many protein bars in a short time.

Can I consume crispy vanilla protein bars while pregnant?

Occasional consumption of protein bars should be safe even during pregnancy. However, every pregnancy is different and we are not experts in this field, so please be sure to discuss this with your gynaecologist!

Is this protein bar suited for people with diabetes?

Our protein bars contain no added sugar: the vanilla cookie dough-flavoured protein bar is sweetened with sweeteners such as maltitol. Consuming foods that contain maltitol instead of refined sugar means that blood sugar levels rise less sharply after consumption than when eating foods sweetened with sugar. However, maltitol does affect blood sugar levels and, if consumed in large quantities, can have a laxative effect. As a diabetic, you can therefore buy these protein bars, but we generally advise enjoying everything in moderation and consulting a doctor when there are any questions.

How should I store these protein bars and how long do they keep?

You should store the protein bar in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. In its original packaging, it will keep for at least 12 months. For ultimate freshness in summer, you can also keep the chocolate protein bar in the fridge and enjoy it chilled.

Is the crispy cookie dough and vanilla style protein bar gluten-free?

Our protein bar consists solely of ingredients that are naturally gluten-free. However, unintentional cross-contamination with cereals may occur during production, which is why we do not label the bar as gluten-free.

Is this protein bar vegan or vegetarian?

No, the crispy vanilla and cookie dough style protein bar contains animal protein in the form of milk protein and collagen hydrolysate. But we do carry a few vegan protein bars, in peanut and chocolate brownie flavours!
