Spirulina - The microalgae

Spirulina, or arthrospira platensis, is a blue-green freshwater algae found in the alkaline waters of Mexico, Asia and South America. The algae was formed about 3.5 billion years ago and is one of the oldest organisms in the world. Spirulina has a long tradition as a food and was once harvested by the Aztecs from Lake Texcoco, which is now almost dry in the valley of what is now Mexico City. The Aztecs knew how to appreciate the microalgae even back then. They added the dried spirulina algae many foods such as soups and cakes in order to reap its benefits!

Spirulina tablets dosage

By using our organic spirulina tablets, you can ensure that you get a good start every morning. Of course, we don't have to explain to you that the most important elements for your health are a balanced and healthy diet, regular exercise and activity in everyday life as well as your own well-being. In addition to spirulina, you will also find the microalgae chlorella in our range. Both microalgae can be ideally integrated into your everyday life. We recommend a maximum of 3 x 3 tablets per day. Take them with a lot of water. You should not exceed this recommended intake.

What is the difference between Chlorella and Spirulina?

Chlorella and Spirulina are two different microalgae that have lived on our planet for billions of years. Spirulina belongs to the blue-green algae, while Chlorella belongs to the green algae. The biggest difference is that Spirulina does not have a distinct nucleus and has only very thin cell walls. The freshwater algae Chlorella, on the other hand, has its own cell nucleus and has more robust cell walls. But let's get back to supplements: In this country, both microalgae are largely used in powder or tablet form. In addition to Spirulina tablets, you can also find organic Chlorella tablets in our assortment.

Where is Spirulina found?

Spirulina algae are mainly found in alkaline salt lakes, and waters with a high salt content. They are widely distributed - from Central America, through Southeast Asia, to Australia or Africa.

Can my dog eat the Spirulina tablets?
