Why is beetroot powder so high in sugar?

Our beetroot powder naturally contains sugar – nothing is added! During the drying process, the fresh beetroot loses water, which concentrates the nutritional values per 100g. This is how the high natural sugar content in our powder comes about: while fresh beetroot contains around 7–10g of sugar per 100g, the content after drying is 52g per 100g. You only need a small amount for your smoothies, bowls or juices – so the sugar content per serving remains manageable.

The powder may lump a little after prolonged storage. This is quite normal, due to the fructose content of the beet. Our tip: Simply crush with your thumb or a spoon and de-clump.
