Because while classic coffee is made from the ground coffee bean, matcha is a type of green tea made from the ground leaves of the matcha plant. The effect is also different, because - surprise! - Matcha actually has a higher caffeine content than coffee. Nevertheless, the green drink is milder in taste than its black competitor. Because most of us do not have this at home, here is a recipe in the simple variant: For the preparation, take about 1-2 grams of matcha from the can and put it in a heat-resistant bowl. Then stir the mixture until smooth, for example, a whisk or a milk frother is suitable for this purpose. Once the lumps are gone, you can add 70 ml of hot water and stir the mixture again quickly. As soon as the matcha is frothy, you can enjoy it. Add some sweetener, such as date syrup, as needed and you're good to go!
