Our chickpeas are preserved in water and remain fresh for a long time without having to resort to preservatives. A little tip: When chickpeas are stored in water, so-called aquafaba is formed. This mixture is formed when proteins from the chickpeas are transferred to the water. The aquafaba can be wonderfully used as a vegan egg substitute. Vegan egg whites have never been so easy to make!

None! In our preserve you will find only the best chickpeas from controlled organic cultivation. These are only mixed with water and thus preserved. No preservatives and other frills!

What do I use chickpeas for?

Accepted Answer

There are no limits to your variety of uses. The chickpeas fit to many dishes and make themselves accordingly well in the salad, a rice pan or delicious curries. Chickpeas are also particularly popular for making falafel or hummus.

How do I store the ready-to-eat chickpeas?

Accepted Answer

It is best to store the canned product in a cool and dry place. Then the chickpeas stay fresh for a super long time with a minimum shelf life of 30 months. After opening, the chickpeas should be decanted and stored in the refrigerator. There, the opened chickpeas should then be used up within the next two days. Should not be a problem with chickpeas, right?

Do you get flatulence from too much chickpeas?

Accepted Answer

In normal quantities, the consumption of our chickpeas does not bring any undesirable side effects. However, it is true that chickpeas contain small amounts of the dietary fiber raffinose. This triple sugar can lead to gas formation in the human intestine, which is why sensitive people may well react with flatulence. As long as you keep your consumption within normal limits, however, you can enjoy the legumes without hesitation.
