What is pesto?

Pesto comes from Bella Italia and is an uncooked, pasty sauce that is usually served with pasta. However, its use is enormously varied, because pesto is also unbeatably delicious with salads, to refine sauces and on pizza.

How are pistachios processed after harvest?

We can already tell that you are particularly curious today! After harvesting, fruit flesh residues are removed with the help of a water rinse and subsequently dried. In the second step, a water bath is used to make the ripe pistachios sink to the bottom. Unripe pistachios remain on the water surface. Following another drying process, the pistachios are transported to silos where they are stored. Small but important info: The drying process causes the pistachio shell to crack, making them easier to eat.

Is the pistachio pesto vegan?

How can I make pistachio pesto last longer?

You can make your pesto last a little longer by smoothing it out in the jar with a clean spoon and covering it with a layer of olive oil. This prevents oxygen or other environmental influences from reaching the pesto.
