Why are the crispies called "90%" but the nutrition table states 88g of protein?

Don’t worry, there’s no trickery here – this is standard practice in food production! During manufacturing, the protein content is often measured on a dry matter basis (moisture-free). In fact, our product is actually just under 91 per cent. However, as the crispies always retain a very minimal, natural residual moisture after processing, the final product in the packet weighs slightly more. By law, we must always state the exact value of the finished product in the nutritional information table – and that stands at an excellent 88g of protein per 100g.

It is best to store the crispies in a cool and dry place, away from light. Unopened, they have a shelf life of 18 months.

What are protein crispies?

Protein crispies are small, crunchy balls produced using a process known as extrusion. In this process, protein-rich raw materials – in our case, 100 % soya protein isolate – are heated, compressed and forced through a nozzle. The drop in pressure causes the mixture to expand; it is then dried, giving it its delicate crunch.
