An oldie but a goodie

In your morning muesli, with sushi or on the classic sesame seed bun, sesame seeds are perhaps also an integral part of your everyday life. But the little grain can do so much more. With its birth around 4000 BC, the sesame plant is one of the oldest in the world. We appreciate it above all for its only edible part: its seeds. They don't just look good on your bread roll, but also enhance tofu, crackers, biscuits, laddu and even ice cream. They can also be used to make delicious tahini.  For those with a sweet tooth, we have even added cocoa and coconut. Sesame oil is suitable for cooking and frying, but is also used in healing ointments.

What is the difference between white sesame and  black sesame?

Ali Baba once got hold of a valuable treasure with "Open Sesame". Sesame is also super valuable. Not only because of its taste, but also because of its ingredients. For example, sesame is a source of protein and fibre. It depends on the plant whether it bears black or light-coloured sesame seeds. Black sesame is considered the original form and has a slightly spicier taste than white sesame. Just try out which variety tastes better to you. You can find both in our shop.
