Roasted, rancid chicken feed

Either a spoiled product was delivered to me or I have a taste disorder. The chickpeas taste rancid, like chicken feed(!) and like cardboard. Completely inedible, they are a disaster even after trying them for the second and third time.
After two months in the cupboard (and still as disgusting as on the first day...) they have now gone in the garbage can.

Good, but too much salt

I start with a tip: other sellers of this kind of products put the expiration date of the product on the website: since they are rather large packages it is good to know how long you will have to consume the product before expiration. In my case it's 4 months, for a kilogram of chickpeas that's not a lot. Pretty much everyone in the house likes them, but they're too salty! They are savory of their own, you don't need all that salt, not to say that salt makes you demented, science tells us so. I would also do something to avoid the slight rancid taste of the oil, I don't know if it may be related to the upcoming expiration date. However, they are not bad.

I ordered them because I thought the chickpeas in the protein mix were so good, hoping to get my hands on a whole bag, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. They are full of oil, taste rancid and none of us like them. We find them really disgusting and we're not actually fussy. What a shame, what happened? Surely nobody can eat something like that voluntarily?
