Peanuts: beloved and versatile

Peanuts are not just an all time favourite TV show, they are also irreplaceable in the kitchen. They can be snacked on pure, added to your vegetable curry or summer rolls, thrown in the blender to make your own peanut butter, or simply be used as a topping for your bowls. Take a look at our recipe section if you need some inspiration!

Why is the peanut called peanut?

Did you know that, botanically speaking, peanuts are not even considered nuts, but legumes? The peanut was originally called "ground nut" or ground pea" because it grows underground; the English even nicknamed it "monkey nut", because monkeys in the zoo would eat them by the cartful. Eventually, the name peanut settled, simply because the size of a peanut is close to pea size. When peanuts are harvested, they are taken out of the ground and dried. We then roasted them in canola oil and added a touch of salt: the treat of all treats is ready for you to enjoy!
