Can I drink coffee during pregnancy?

Small amounts of up to 200 mg of caffeine (which is equivalent to about 2 cups of coffee) may be okay during pregnancy. However, it is better to discuss this with your gynecologist in advance. Coffee consumption should also be slightly limited during breastfeeding, as a baby can take a little longer to break down the caffeine absorbed through breast milk, due to the fact that some enzymes are still underdeveloped.
